Rainy Day

IMG_7328

Everybody needs a little help sometime.  Although, why the female house finch needs the male to bring her food, when she built her nest in a bird feeder, beats me.  Day 5 and she has laid 4 eggs so far.

  1. This is so incredibly sweet, I am thrilled that you get the chance to watch this, and share it with us!

I guess sometimes the pull of nature is just too strong so dad has to feed the mama. I like it.

  4. This is so exciting, seeing things happen from way down here. I guess everyone needs some encouragement, even in form of food. :)

  5. You are so lucky to be able to witness this. I think I would spend my entire day watching the birds and getting nothing else done!

  8. Four eggs ... she's been very busy! Traditional roles, huh? She's feathering the nest and he's the hunter/gatherer. Nature in a nutshell ... or a bird feeder!

  9. Oh, man, you're going to be able to write a novel by the time this is over! About both your own year and the birds' too! This post was truly a breath of fresh air for me today!
