  1. Those are some pretty amazing pictures. I always enjoy seeing herons, there's something mystical about them.

  3. Majestic creatures. We have then in our yard now and then and see them winging their way home to the nest.

  4. Once again you've gotten closer than anyone I can think of. (Either that or you have a really long, really sharp lens you do these with).

    Awesome shooting!

  7. Did you take these pictures? They are very special. Its not often that we can get the chance of seeing a blue heron. The eyes are pretty intense. Thanks for sharing.

  10. Excellent! I live in an environment where I see herons every day, often right out front. But they NEVER let me get close enough for a photo such as this, zoom lens or not! Stand up and take a bow! ~karen

  14. Brilliant, Lisa! I love your bird shots. Herons look so majestic and graceful. I would love to see them in flight some time. They are not so much a northern bird I don't think; we surely don't see them up here! :o)

  17. Hmmmm. Probably tastes like chicken. But then - doesn't everything? The thing is - given the ancestry of birds and fowl - do you not think it appropriate to say "Tastes like dinosaur?"
