When I babysat my daughter's parakeet I had a mess involved, but I didn't mind, it gave me opportunity to play with the camera.
I never did get the exact view I was hoping for but I was stubborn and wouldn't use my tripod.
Still, I thought some of them were fun.
See, messy bird! My family's just glad I didn't leave it there for a year before snapping, like I did with the cupcake, lol.
Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or any close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and sign Mr Linky. MM started on Sept 29, 2008 - Thanx to all of you for helping make it such a fun start to the week! :)
This feather came from our little friend who came in, lol.
Still, I would babysit again. :)
I like the shots! I don't even own a tripod! It wouldn't work for me, with what I do... walking and hiking... I've considered one of those monopods (or however you spell it), but I don't know the first thing about shopping for one, and I need something very light to carry.
ReplyDeleteYay! am first!!! The shots are wonderful, I'm just crazy that I don't use my tripod...didn't even bother to open it up yet from its case. Phew! Thanks for reminding me...I love that last photo the most! Hope all is well with you...
ReplyDeleteNice and airy Lisa. I've been too lazy to use my tripod lately. We bad! I think I like the first and last shots (and the overhead of the feather too) best of the group.
ReplyDeleteI love the shots with the shadow / flare / I'm unsure what you would call it. It gives a wonderful effect. The contrasts of seeds and soft feather is lovely. I got myself a great, expensive tripod to use. Do I in the house? Oh no. It's a lot of trouble to set up!!
ReplyDeleteOne day I will buy a tripod (when I get good at taking photos). Love the last shot...so soft looking.
ReplyDeleteI love feathers...these are some great shots....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful narrow depth of field in the last shot! I am glad the bird was so messy :)
ReplyDeleteYou capture the feather very nicely. The mess on the background added some touch. You should have let us see the bird who caused the mess :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!
I love the series. Each has its own special area of greatness. Messy bird makes for fun pics.
ReplyDeleteLove the focus of the first one Lisa!
ReplyDeleteIt may sound funny but the feather seems almost alive . :)
I always enjoy your macros.
ReplyDeleteThe photos I just posted don't really qualify as macros, but you may enjoy them, as you won't see such things in Wisconsin.
We've had several birds, during our marriage. They can be noisy and messy, but they're fun.
ReplyDeleteBirds can be messy, but they're fun.
ReplyDeleteStunning feather macros! They look light as air!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, this is my first time to join Macro Monday, I think I would have a lot of fun with this meme.
ReplyDeleteThe feather looks so soft and fragile in that photo. Nice macro shot!
Hello Lisa, this is my first time to join Macro Monday and I know I will have fun with this meme.
ReplyDeleteBtw, the feather looks so soft and fragile in that photo. Happy Monday.
Yes...birds are pretty messy!! We used to have parakeets!! But the picture taking scenes are pretty much never-ending!!! Feathers ARE fun to play with!!
ReplyDeleteOh, so beautiful. I love the soft turquoise color, and the detail of the white fluffy part.
ReplyDeleteMy tripod sits in the corner and I rarely use it - so many photos I take are quite near the ground so a tripod usually is too awkward to use.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've had some fun Lisa - us photographers can see beauty even in mess - well thats my excuse when I'm behind in the housework. I think feathers are great subjects to play around with. The first and last photos are my favourites. :) Rosie
My favorite is photo nr 3 !
ReplyDeleteGreat shots on the mess the bird made :)
Have a nice Monday !
Don't have a tripod...love your feather shots!
ReplyDeleteFantastic serie of feather shots!
ReplyDeleteLisa, I love your entry for today and I enjoy every second watching how the feather emerges in the different pictures. This is art! The last one is my favourite - it is so delcate :)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Monday!

Hello Lisa, this is the third time that I attempted to post a comment, and I hope this would be posted. As I was saying in my previous comment, this is the first time to join and I know I would have a lot of fun. Thank. The feathers looks so light and fluffy, nice macro shot.
ReplyDeleteI do that, I get stubborn sometimes and won't use the tripod! But you did get some nice shots, and I love the fact that you've included the 'mess' of seed and stuff!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots! Though it looks like a mess, it added texture and feel to the photos!
ReplyDeleteI like how you've played with the feather and the rest of the mess. :)
ReplyDeleteI have seen this meme for quite some time and it was only when I got my new camera that I felt I could join in! Well I am here now and looking forward to joining in when I can! Loved the feather - reminded me of our very own chickens, I know who has laid which egg by the feather each leave behind!
ReplyDeleteI love the detail o the feather. It even looks soft and tender.

I lost my monopod during a wedding. I must buy one before my next vacation. I love feathers - great Macro Monday material :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic and very artistic shots. I don't even have a tripod though I don't know that I'd use it with the shots that I take. It would be great however for my videos.
ReplyDeleteLovely feathers.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday.
