Macro Monday ~ Hatchling

p10

Exciting things happening here over the weekend! I had to share that our eggs are hatching and the House Finch couple are parents to 3 so far. I am working on a longer post of their journey thus far that will be immediately below this one, but I had to take advantage of this neat experience for a Macro Monday.  He's still attached to his little egg, maybe an hour hatched.

I cropped in a little too far in this one, but I was hoping to enable you to really him.

  15. I showed my hubby your wonderful photo essay below. I can't believe they built a nest right in your window feeder! In some of the photos, the baby looks kind of cute, and in others, well, we know its mother thinks it's cute.

Thank you so much for sharing!!!

  16. Those are wonderful photos Lisa - we have little hatchlings too but I can't get as close as that to get the photos due to where the nest is. Its wonderful watching them. When I saw the first one hatch I thought it was a little leaf until it moved!

  24. Hi !
Fun to see moore hatchling babybirds :)
I begin to think I have missed this years babybirds leaving our building ?
The birds that I´m waiting for are called Talgoxe in swedish. What they are called in english I don´t know ?
I tried to use Google translate but I don´t think it translated right because I really don´t think they are called Great Tits in english *LOL*

  28. Wow, wow, wow! I put out a feeder and a birdhouse this year, and the winged ones are very satisfied with the feeder, but no one trusts the shelter yet. So I'm having to live vicariously through your gorgeous photos. I just LOVE this shot!!!
