life and death

I don't have the best green thumb. In fact, my family always wonder how I manage to kill even cactus. I don't know how I do it, but. . . My daughter gave me this bonsai a year or two ago and I've managed to keep it alive. But that little pot, there on the left, yeah, I bought that succulent this spring and well, um, I don't think it's coming back.

I just loved the way the little bonsai looked against the screen in the window and the dappled sunlight. :0)

  1. LOL....it sounds like you have a green thumb (just like me)! Although, I do think your plants look better than mine!

  3. Succulents are hard to care for, so, nor worries ;)

  4. The bonsai looks very healthy. Perhaps you over-watered the succulent. Most people do that.

  5. LOL! Yeah, I have the same color thumb as you do. :) If it can´t survive by one watering a week, it´s not making it at my house....

  6. I have the original Black Thumb. I can not only kill a cactus, I can kill a plastic cactus.

    True story.

  8. I, too, have black thumb disease. It's horrible. Whenever I mention buying a plant, Hubby just rolls on the floor with tears of laughter streaming down his face. Jerk! One of our dinner party guests brought me an orchid Saturday night and I put it in the kitchen window and am waiting for it to commit suicide!

  9. You make me laugh. I do the same thing to plants. I guess we can always go outside and visit the green friends we just can't seem to live with.

  10. I planted my garden from seed three times this year. I'm finally getting a few edible veggies now!

Sometimes I don't think it matters what color your thumb is. Or which direction you sneeze. Or what your favorite color it. It's just how many hungry bunnies and grasshoppers are nearby. :)

Okay, so I know you didn't have those in your house, but I don't always think it's the gardener causing the withering!

  11. I love plants, I have plenty of them in my house almost in every room, I love them and they love me back growing beautifuly, however I killed one or two, the thing is I sometimes forget to water them for a week or a bit longer and then I put too much water and well... some of them don't like that

  12. I am amazed! Bonsai's are usually harder to maintain. I found with Cactus if you plant them outside they fair better. Anything in a pot needs extra water to survive!
