Red-Headed Woodpecker

IMG_6458

What's this I see? The top of mom and dad's light pole appears to be very popular with the woodpeckers, it's not the first time they have made a nest, and a raised a family there.

  3. Great shots! They remind me of the first time I saw a red headed woodpecker - they were supposedly around Atlanta, but I only spotted one once or twice.

  4. The second to last shot is my favorite. I'm amazed at how close you are able to get. What lens did you use?

  14. I don't think I've ever actually seen a real one. Just Woody Woodpecker on the old cartoons. He is beautiful. Love his colors against the brilliant blue sky.
