Wicked Web
Often being a person diagnosed with cancer leaves you feeling like you're caught in a web. Doctors, oncologists, tests, medications, more tests, more meds, more doctors, and on and on it goes. No matter what you see a doctor for, if the doctor is new to you, he wants to hear all about the cancer from diagnosis to present day. You just want to leave the cancer behind and move forward, but the old you, the carefree, cancer-free you is lost forever.

My mother ( age 77) has been caught in this web for the second time. She's had her operation, the doctor removed a tumor in her bowel a little over a week ago. She's home and she's recuperating amazingly well, thank heavens. All she wants to do is leave this behind her as soon as possible too. We don't know yet if she is going to need chemo or not. Let's just hope she continues to recuperate as well as she has done this past week.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom had breast cancer - had a right side mastectomy, in fact - but she has never looked back. Just keep your eyes forward. Just keep going. I love your Art. Cathartic or not. Just keep on going.
ReplyDeleteThat spider web is a thing of ugly beauty. Unfortunately, the cancer would have to redefine your existence somewhat, but it doesn't change who you are!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. You are caught but you are moving through it with beauty.
ReplyDeleteWicked and what wonderful details...nature's art is the best!
