While I was out photographing birds and flowers and butterflies and dragonflies, I stumbled upon this funny little happy looking bug. I have no clue what it is, do you?

Thanx Klaus!  I figured you would know what this little cutie was.  Hello Red Milkweed Beetle!  But I loved everyone's creative answers and ideas!

I haven't met this one before, but that figures, the things you show me on this blog are *****star rated!
My daughter is very good at inventing names.
Maybe she could come up with something?
    She would.

    It's cute. I don't know what it is - a variation of a ladybug?

  3. That's really a strange bug. I was curious so I did a google search but couldn't find anything like that. Maybe you've discovered a new insect. Maybe they'll name it Lisa's Ladybug Lookalike!

  4. What do you get when you cross a lady bug and a grasshopper? I don't know either, but I'll bet it looks just like this.

  10. There needs to be a children's book written with this bug as the main character. Perhaps I'll do a watercolor of him.

I had a weird bug a few weeks ago that I photographed (never found time to blog it)
