Grandsons and a bloggy meeting

It was one busy week! So this may be a little long, but I hope you enjoy.

Tristan

Tristan, or Twister as I like to call him nowadays, spent the night. This is something we’re trying to do several times before his baby sister is born at Christmas, because he will have to stay with me a few days while his mom and sis are in the hospital. Up until this point he only spent those nights while his mom had gall bladder surgery. This has been because the little Twister wears me out after a few hours and up until a month ago he was still breast feeding and needed his mom.

But he’s boob free now and needs to be carried less, which saves my back. He actually did great, which totally surprised me. He fell asleep about 8:30 pm and didn’t wake up until about 8:30 am. Yay! Sleep. I took the opportunity to snap a few photos of our activities, which I’ll be sharing shortly. But, these two shots are from our morning breakfast time and I think you can tell by my living room why I call him Twister.

In this photo, I turned the camera sideways (duh, right?) and I guess he thought he needed to turn too.

As I told you, we did a whirlwind trip to Missouri to meet our newest grandson and of course you’ll see him in a moment, but on our way down we had the opportunity to meet up with a blogger I started reading recently. If memory serves, I met Alisha through the Photostory Fridays. She has two beautiful daughters, who were angels for our meeting, and a wonderful husband! We were hoping to get to go shoot some photos together but the eternal rain and flash floods kept us from it. Alisha has a great eye and I can’t wait to see what she does when she gets an SLR in her hands!

Can you believe we share the same birthday?! Well, she’s a few years younger.  But it’s pretty neat that we were both born on February 8th, our husbands were both born in August and we both met our spouses on the internet. Oh and she lives in Missouri and I spent 30+ years (more years than she's been a live, ugh) there! Go say hi, she’s really nice!

baby Cole

Meet Cole, one week old at the time of these pictures. His parents adore him! Don’t they look young! Daddy is 19, which is the same age I was when I had my first, but wow, they look young, or I’m getting really old. Dang, I have two and a half grandkids now, guess I AM old! LOL.

I sure wish they lived closer so we could get to know this little man better.

I know you really want to see baby, so here you go. I took a ton of photos and I want to show more but feel that I’ve overwhelmed you enough for today.

I almost forgot to tell you, my son, Mikal has started a blog!  I'm so excited to get another family member blogging!

  1. Your grandson(s) are soooooo cute!! It is very hard when they live so far away. My husband's grandkids live in MN so we never get to see them. Only saw the little guy one time. You rock as a Grandma. And you are much too young. How cool is that - you got to meet another blogger...yay!

  8. Cole is adorable! He so tiny and sweet. Those days fly by so fast that it's hard to remember my girls that little. Izzy was so little when she was born that even preemie clothing was too big for her!

Thanks so much for writing about our meeting. I appreciate your kind words.

  14. You should make him a button that says "Boob Free For X Days" like they have at AA.

  17. I don't know which I like better....the fact that your grandson cocked his head like that to follow the camera...or the shot itself!
    Love the trio too...just perfect.
