Three Bee Macro Monday

IMG_3339

I sat on the porch enjoying some of the last bits of warmth and admiring the dwindling flowers when a visitor flew up and joined me.

He buzzed this way and that and I was braver behind my camera than I ever would have been without it.

It wasn't long before we were joined by another bee.

And then another. I'm not sure I've ever seen 3 different kinds of bees in one location before.  They were all moving rather sluggishly.  I snapped these a few days ago, minutes apart, but now the flowers are nearly gone.

  6. 'Bee' careful around those little guys! What great photos as always. The last bit of warmth? Oh my, I'll trade you. After a nice cool down, Old Man SUMMER is back with temps near 90 and high humidity. I stare at my sweaters and wonder why I even bought the things. Happy MM! David/ Tropical Texana/ Houston

  17. Nice shots- bumblebees don't seem to mind us getting close to take pictures. I think they are too absorbed in finding food.

  21. Beautiful pictures, although I don't have a special love for bees. Here in Egypt in our room we only have mosquitos which bites, and don't want to pose for macro shots.
