the juncos are back

102810

If I have a pain that lasts for any length of time, I fear the cancer has come back.  Paranoid?  Yes, I am.  But, I think, in this situation, the paranoia is normal.  I had a diagnosis hit me from out of the blue, in fact, the last words I said to the doctor performing the test was, "Well, we know it's not cancer, or I'd already be dead."  I was 38 years old, it was not supposed to be cancer.  The next words he said to me were, "We found cancer."  I am much more in tune to my body nowadays.  Yes, I am paranoid.

My photo has nothing to do with my words but I figure that's ok.  I'm excited the dark-eyed juncos are back, winter is coming!

  3. I know you will be ever vigilant - and i don't blame you. But if that's what it's going to take to make sure you're around to keep on taking your marvelous pictures - to be there for your family - and to be there for all of us - then you go for it, girl.

  5. Yes, it certainly is okay and I understand how easy it is to be cautious (yeah, I fool myself - paranoid isn't the word I'd choose AND I don't worry, either...it's concern >wink-wink<). BUT....I love those little junco's too, Lisa...I do, and mine are back also. They're precious, they are.

  9. That is an awful thing to have hanging over your head and you were and are so young..I don't have any words of wisdom, just caring support....I have a couple of male juncos and one red-breasted nuthatch visiting my western Ny yard. Darn it really is heading into winter.....
