a bird and a unicorn

lc3168

I'm using a little creative liberties with my camera critters this week, hope you don't mind. This little bird ornament was a set of 6, I think, that was given to my parents when I was small. My dad had a camera store and one of his customers was an art teacher (I believe) and he made, and gave them, to my parents for Christmas one year.

Another year he gave them a set of unicorns. As far as I know these are the only two left, and each year as I hang them on my tree I am momentarily swept back to my childhood and our artificial white Christmas tree decked out with red lights and red ornaments and few happy birds and unicorns.

  1. They are so cute!I love going around the mall around this time of year, just to see the ornaments on sale there. I do buy a few that I like and keep them around the house just for decoration purpose. I'm a Muslim and I don't celebrate Christmas but I do visited Christian friends on Christmas day.

  3. I have ornaments that my dad had made for my first Christmas living with my grandparents (I was two years old). I cherish those ornaments and the memories that come with them.

  6. I put an ornament on my tree from 1978. It is a precious moment and it has always been a favorite of mine, so I took it off of my mom's tree a few years ago and now cherish it on my tree.

  7. These are wonderful. I like ornaments that have this effect. Seems to me that's what ornaments are really all about.
