  2. oriental poppies are one of my very favorite flowers, I love the large orange blooms, the foliage and even the hanging seed pod as the plant matures. Recently on a drive in the mountains I came across a rare find where I live, a large hillside in a wild area covered with the biggest poppies I have ever seen. They were brilliant and the sight was breathtaking. Drat--I didn't have a camera with me.

  3. These are beautiful!! I love the vibrant colors. They need to be framed on a wall! Here is my Wordless Wednesday!

  4. Great photo! I always have such a hard time with red flowers - some reason they always look over-exposed on my camera.

  9. I love poppies! I keep telling Brian that I want them next year in my garden. They remind me of tissue paper!

  10. Your beautiful pictures remind me of The Wizard of Oz where Dorthy and her friends sleep in a field of poppies. One of my favorite films, btw. Have a great day.

  19. Man, the first thing I thought about was the cycle of life... Doesn't this really represent that? Wow... Look what I have to look forward to. LOL!

  20. I'm sensing a theme here... witches on broomsticks, poppies...

    And Toto too?

  21. Fantastic poppy photos! I have found them hard to shoot, because of the lack of contrast in the petals. I never seem to have the right light.

    These are great!

  22. All 3 photographs are wonderful, but the middle one is awesome. Oops, am trying to clear that word from my adjective list. Our paster said only God is Awesome. I agree, so I guess I will change that to gorgeous!
