Camera Safety While Traveling

t731

Can we talk for a minute? Do you have an old car seat sitting around? Do you fret about where to sit your camera while you’re driving down the road? I have a solution!

My camera is my baby, why not treat it like one? I don’t give it a bottle, although I feed it freshly charged batteries. I don’t change its diaper, but do wipe off its “eye”. For months, I tried to figure out where to place it in the car that it would be safe and still easier to get to than it’s Pelican case. Then a light bulb went off. The baby seat is perfect! It’s padded, has an adjustable belt and a sunshade.

Even Tristan’s big boy seat can stay in the car and be used by the camera when he’s not here.

Look how safe it looks. Makes you wanna go out and buy a safety seat doesn’t it?

  3. Good idea! Now I just need a nice camera to fill in the carseat on the rare times when the squirt stays home! :)

  4. OMG you are too cute! I love that idea, especially for your GIGANTIC lens, you definitely need a lot of padding to keep that baby safe.

p.s. Your blog is beautiful, love the new look.

  5. Lol - why not! But don't forget to leave the window open a little bit, when you leave your camera in the hot car!;)

  11. Now that's a good use for old care seats.

  12. When my kids aren't in the car, I use their seats for all kinds of things. It sometimes makes me annoyed when they ARE in the car because the seats are not available!

  13. So funny Lisa! I'd have to fight my cat for possession of RePete's old carseat. I do have a very padded camera backpack that BN bought me and it is insulated so stays pretty cool.

Of course, I don't have a MEGA lens like that either. :-)

I think that is the exact best way to take care of your pictures.

But, what about Tristan? What happens when he's in the seat?

  19. That is funny, but a good solution. When I get a nice fancy camera, I will probably have a car seat for grandchildren too.
