SOOC #4 flower

w2

The big reason we bought these flowers was because of the color. I liked how it was kind of a dull color, it felt aged, antiquey. :)

Hope everyone has a great 4th, and a safe one!

Happy 2007!

PS - Tristan's first fourth of July, a sparkler had a piece come off and burn his arm, he still has a scar from it! I felt horrible (I was holding him) and I still do! Be careful!

ouch

I love the colors of your daisies & the fireworks are great captures. Hope your little guy is better soon.

  9. Love your description of the flower "dull color, it felt aged, antiquey." You could have been describing me, except the dull part. At least I don't think I'm dull, yet! Thanks for playing along, today, and Happy 4th to you and yours.

  12. It's so poetic of you to consider the antiquey beauty in a dull flower. I like that feeling of positive appreciation. I pray the darling baby's burn is now healed. (With a burn like that, I used fresh tomato fruit and squeeze its juice on the arm as a disinfectant to discourage scars.

Now it's time for me to join the Macro Monday Flowers. I get hazy looking out for the link. :)

  13. I need to learn how to take fireworks photos AND night photos. Just haven't had the energy to sit down and figure it out own my own.

  15. i love these flowers too...i see similar ones in white and yellow too...i will definitely have some in my garden. hope your grandson is ok...i wouldn't allow my daughter to use them last night because of the same reason, they were actually shooting firey pieces off...and she was wearing a nylon dress...they are not like the ones i grew up with...i think they need to be banned more so than the firecrackers.

  16. What a beautiful colour! I love it just the way it is, it needs no boosting in any which direction. :o)

  18. Beautiful pictures. My youngest daughter managed to burn herself a second belly button with a sparkler when she was little. I don't even think she remembers it and she doesn't have a scar, but I'll never forget it!!!
