Refreshing Orange

071210

Looks and tastes so refreshing on a hot summer day! We all know oranges are good for us and full of vitamin C, but oranges also have a compound called liminoid which help fight cancers of the mouth, skin, lung, breast, stomach and colon.  Maybe I should plant an orange tree or two.

  1. This shot is brilliant, Lisa! I love the composition and how you didn't show the whole cross section of the orange. The contrast between the orange and green is really easy on the eyes too! :o) And... now I am hungry. lol!

  2. Love the shot, but not sure I would want this orange... it is on the grass after all. Is there another in the fridge or pantry?

  3. I did a bicycle ride in California once that passed through some orange groves. Not only are oranges so good for us, but man they are heavenly to pedal through, too! I felt as if I could still smell the blossoms two weeks later!

This is a beautiful shot; great texture and saturation!

  5. I absolutely love oranges. We do have an orange tree but, unfortunately, it doesn't produce much, which is too bad because they're really sweet and juicy. Didn't know about the cancer fighting benefits. I wonder if the same holds true for lemons. We have a lemon tree that produces over 1,000 big lemons each season.
