Penny for your thoughts
Simple things. Just a simple little wheat penny makes me think of my grandma. It makes me think of a childhood flying kites in the park, eating oatmeal and watching Scooby Doo. I keep it on my bedside, intending to send it to my grandma (she collects them), but I find that every time I see it, I am that little girl with pigtails. Happy memories keeping me young.

ps i love your interpretation of my wisteria and the fairy slippers!
What a lovely clear shot, Lisa -- I'm admiring that gorgeous slightly art-nouveau font.
ReplyDeleteI think you should keep this one because I'm sure your grandma would be honored to know that you keep this at your bedside as it serves as a talisman for good health and long life, with her as the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI followed the link at the bottom of your post for the first time. I admire you for taking on this project in public and I wish you the very best as you count up to the five-year mark.
Oh I LOVE this post! I LOVE the image and I LOVE that it makes you remember happy times!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, my dad, he collects them, we always save them for him. You should keep it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sentiment :)
ReplyDeleteWe all need such happy little memories to keep us young!
It's a great close up. Makes me think I could pick that penny right up. They actually make me think of railroad tracks. That's probably not a great connection to make. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely keep that one for yourself ... anything that makes you feel like a kid again!
