Morel Macro Monday

 

I almost ran over some morel mushrooms with the mower!  Instead, husband cut them up and had them with a steak.



If you haven't made it over to my new blog you may not know that I have a new baby granddaughter now. :)  She was born on my 10th wedding anniversary, last Friday.  She's perfect in every way!

Found these flowers on our trip. :) The warmth did follow us home, at least for a while. Now that I'm home I'm trying to finish up passing the torch. I had someone email while I was gone, hopefully she's still interested, I have messaged her. :)

Vacation Macro Monday

I am enjoying some much needed warmth along the gulf coast this week. I have had a couple of people interested in taking Macro Monday over but nothing is all set yet. I will try to finish that up when I get back from vacation. Hope you all are enjoying some warmth too.

My precious little grandson has brown eyes so deep they pull you in.  I wonder what color of eyes their little baby sister will have when she's born next month. . .

The Prius has a little more privacy in it now.  We got the windows tinted today. :)  Ready for Florida.

I was looking for a small project yesterday while the snow piled up outside, so I whipped up a cozy for my gearshift, lol.



The Prius is not getting out today, so much snow and wind!



The Jeep had no trouble plowing right through it though. :) Was able to get out and get the needles I need to make a sweater.

Cupcake Macro Monday

Had a sweet weekend! Friday was my birthday and husband took me to a yarn show, where I got lots of beautiful yarns. Then we had cupcakes from the #2 cupcake shop in America, Cupcakes-A-Go-Go. They were MUCH better than the ones we had celebrating my 5 years cancer-free in New Mexico, and we will definitely go back!

Double Knitting

I decided to tackle this scarf project on ravelry (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/scarf-for-the-birds), however it was working up bigger than I wanted so instead of continuing with the scarf I changed it a bit and now my iPad mini has a new home.



 

I will be adding velcro to the tab, I want to keep in reversible so no buttons to scratch it.

Part 3 Scary Movies - HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

1. A Perfect Getaway - Great!  Nice twisty actiony movie!


2. The Shining - Awesome as always.  "Here's Johnny!"


3. Frozen in Fear - Filming was so bad we lasted 10 minutes tops.


4. In the Dead of Winter - same for this one (they're on the same disc)


5. Possession  - Liked this one quite a bit. (Sarah Michelle Gellar)


6. Saw - Let's face it, if you want to get grossed out this is the series for you.  I do like the way they make you think - the twists.


7. Saw II - Oh yeah - had to look away and squeal more than once.


8. A Nightmare on Elm Street - Loved it in high school and still like it.


9. Final Destination - Love the way Death comes back around!


10. Red Lights - Nice little twist.  Like DeNiro and Sigourney, kept me interested.


11. Halloween - Michael Myers - enough said.

Part 2 of the month of scary movies. 11 more left. :)  Living in this farmhouse with fields around I have to watch these when hubs is home, just can't watch them on a night when I am alone - toooooo creepy!

A day of rest

Today I am taking a rest from the unpacking and cleaning, resting my sore muscles and playing with a few photos.  There really isn't much left to do, thankfully.  Soon the camera and I will be able to go exploring. :0)



Squirrels drove me nuts at our old place! Breaking feeders and stealing seeds.
