Nevermore
And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted - nevermore!
~Edgar Allen Poe

ReplyDeleteI love this poem ... and your beautiful photo :)
ReplyDeletePerfectly illustrated verse!
ReplyDeleteI hope your day and weekend aren't quite as Poe-etic. Sending smiles your way!
how i love that poem. i never tire of hearing it. and that picture is very fitting for the verse. hope all is well.
ReplyDeleteThat's one of the few poems Poe wrote that I liked. I loved his short stories, but I always thought his poetry tried too hard. The Raven was one of the notable exceptions.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo though!
What a stark and scary looking picture. Of course, that's probably cause the Poe poem has the hair standing up on the back of my neck, too. Loved it ... nicely done!
ReplyDeleteLove this shot. Raven/crow is my power totem.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with this photo, I have a "thing" for crows...
