Remember my miniature rose that survived the winter? It didn't survive the bunny. *sigh*
Last year we planted a little bit of ground cover in the flower bed to fill in. It came back nicely and even. . .
bloomed!
I had fun pointing the camera at the blooms, not looking through, not knowing what I captured until I saw it on my computer. :)
Just a day or two later they were opened.
The tulips actually put some buds on this year, but they did not bloom.
Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or any close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and sign the Linky. MM started on Sept 29, 2008 - Thanx to all of you for helping make it such a fun start to the week! :)
Great detail and out of focus background = macro, yes?!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful bloom...I love all of the fine details in these!
ReplyDeleteNice Lisa. I like the first shot and the blue one best.
ReplyDeleteThose darn rabbits...we have so many of them around here and they love eating my petunias. Love that ground cover with the blue flowers, so pretty. I wonder why you tulips did not bloom. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteLove the first shot!
ReplyDeleteWe've been putting out a little corn in hopes the bunnies leave everything else alone. HA!
Sorry about the loss to the bunny. We lost a lot of our roses to deer. Hope your lovely photos provide some consolation.
ReplyDeleteWow, Lisa...that truly is some macro you have here! Those are tiny purple flowers.
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem with my tulips. Idon't even think I will add more this year, they have been very disappointing.
ReplyDeleteThe closer you get, the groovier the shot gets!
ReplyDeleteLovely purple blossoms on that ground cover!
ReplyDeleteThe purple flowers are so beautiful and unique! Your garden must be really lovely right now, Lisa.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so nice when everything is blooming and it smells so good !
ReplyDeleteThe little ajuga blooms are like little minature orchids - I grow these too Lisa and I never realised how pretty the flowers were until I took a few macros - I was pleasantly surprised when I saw them on the screen too. BTW I loved those orange daisies in you sooc yesterday. Have a good week :) Rosie
ReplyDeleteThat's why I am having a lot of fun with macro shots! I snapped on unexpected things or creatures that goes with my subject, like the purple flowers!
ReplyDeleteWonderful macro shots!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo nice and fresh, I had similar tulipbuds this spring but the bambis eat them all before they bloom. I will plant some in a pot to have on my terrace next year, as it's fenced they have to jump there and I hope they wont.......
ReplyDeleteWonderful ! even without blooms .
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Those little purple/blue blossoms do look like tiny orchids.
ReplyDelete[...] Colour cross processed. Posted for Macro Monday [...]
ReplyDeleteI have a post today that also reminded me of Spring. It is such a fresh season, and in CA it's very beautiful. Your macro are gorgeous as always.
ReplyDeleteThe blue flower picture is so beautiful - I love the colour tones in this shot :)
ReplyDeleteLovely spring photos !
ReplyDeleteHere in Sweden it´s have been really hot this past week and today as well = PUH !
Just now it´s 84,2 F in the shade and I soon have to get on my Harley to drive 62 miles to the workshop to get a Service done.
Me again :)
ReplyDeleteHope I got the miles right ?
I´m going to drive about 100 kilometers , that I know :)
Those really are beautiful - well shot!
ReplyDeleteI love the budding stage. Yours are beautiful, with those tiny little purple flowers!
ReplyDeleteThe leaves of your blue/violet-flowered plant look furry and strokeable - a good choice for a sensory garden. Our tulips were very disappointing this year - just one or two pitiful blooms.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots Lisa!
ReplyDeleteSpring is always beautiful and so is your photos too!
ReplyDeletebeautiful....love the color of the bloom.
ReplyDeleteit is fun to shoot without looking sometimes isn't it?
such a surprise to find out what you got.
have a wonderful day!
Darn those wascally wabbits! Something is eating my roses from underneath. Grrrr!
ReplyDeleteLovely shot of the rose leaves. At least you have a memory.
I miss all of the pretty flowers from Spring. I'm also missing doing MM, but I guess I just haven't been feeling the macro shots lately. Don't know why... Hopefully, I'll get back to it for next week.
ReplyDeleteWow, that ground cover is gorgeous ... love the colors!
ReplyDeleteLove the variegated groundcover with the blue blossoms. Do you know the name of it? It looks like a mint of some sort.
ReplyDeleteI know that tulips emerge with a warm spell, but if it is followed by a cold snap, the stems will stop growing. Could that be what happened? They could also have been planted too deep.
How do I join your Macro Monday challenge? lists are closed? Love to be a part of and had a hard time finding how to link to you. THanks for input
