  2. If you took these pictures, I sincerely hope you have some incredible zoom on your camera, and even then- NO!!!!! We have a lot of these as I'm surrounded by woods. I'm so scared of them.

I'm with Robin! How did you get that close to a rattler? You did kill it, right?

  12. That pic gives me the creeps! We had a rattler in my garage last year and I found one under some bricks on the side of my house a couple of years ago. They scare me to pieces!

  13. YIKES! I would not want that any where close to me. I was once bit by a boa constrictor, so I have a HUGE fear of snakes. *shiver* Happy WW: http://tinyurl.com/5os522

  23. I am not terrified of snakes but this one and a few others are not one snake that I imagine cross paths with on the trail. Like other commenters - sure hope you have an aawwwful good zooooooom lens!

  24. What a sweet babi Timber Rattler. You should talk to the DNR and National Geographic and stuff. No, really, you should. These are like my dream shots (besides a shot of Midleton of course) ! I'm so jealous, yet thrilled right now. I think I'll have to knock the bull semen guy off the Ched of the Week list and put you up.
    Hoorah for you!

  25. I'm with Haddon, I like snakes, but I stay striking distance away from rattlers. I think that's a good policy.

  26. Eek!

When I was about five I was walking with my (about eight years older) cousins in the woods. Suddenly the boy cousin swooped me up and pretty much ran me several hundred yards away. I had no idea what was going on...but found out later that I had almost stepped on a Michigan Rattler! Oops..

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

  27. Amazing shots! Wow! Let's hope an extreme zoom was used here!!

I stepped in a rattler coil as a child... a truly terrifying experience.

  42. How nice of you....your visits.
    Thank you.
This critter runs free where I came from.
I had one wrapped around my 3 yr olds tricycle tires.....that was my first up close encounter.
I must say I DON"T ever want to come across another. That was in New Mexico years ago and the memory is still way to fresh.
Can't type much, leaning my neck over is still painful but wanted to say Hello and catch up.
    Love TJ

  50. Cool photos. The rattle has thread on it so I was thinking it looks sewn on. I must say, SwampAngel65 had a funny comment. It is true, you would keep your distance from a real snake.
