The Shoe Tree ~ Sooc #38

IMG_2344

Driving between Devil's Tower and Custer State Park we discovered this shoe tree at the side of the road. Not sure why it started but since finding it I have also found a couple of shoe fences. . .odd.

  3. Great shots, I've never been able to understand the shoe trees that sprout up around the country, but they are great photo subjects.

  7. That's funny. I've always wondered why people throw shoes on trees and telephone wires. I see them from time to time where I live but never a whole "shoe tree", lol. Great capture.

  10. I sometimes wonder what the parents who bought the shoes think about when they see the shoes up high on a tree! We have one of thee trees near us and another one is starting to grow across the street from it as well.

  12. I've seen others post these, and I hate when people nail them to the tree. I like this one where they are tied on. Around my small town, the kids like to throw a pair of shoes up and try and hang them over the electric wires. Life in a small town! Great shots!

  13. You find the quirkiest things. Maybe this is where all those shoes you see on telephone wires come from.

  14. Some of those shoes look like they still have some wear in them. Those baby shoes, for instance. Wonder what that's about....
