  1. Congrats! I have several pics of me next to the 45 degree sign. then in 2009 got a pic next to the 45 degree sign in the SOUTHERN hemisphere...was a really cool feeling!

  2. Great photos. There is a place in Ireland (can't remember where) called the Giant's Causeway which has similar columnar joints left by cooling lava.

  3. Looks nice and warm there. I can't say I've ever seen Hawaii license plates and I saw plenty having grown up near the Great Lakes Navel Base.

  5. The natural columns are pretty cool. I'm guessing it was a long, wet drive from Hawaii ;-)

  6. Where are you now?
I get lost with all that traveling.

  7. Congrats on Hawaii ... that is a tough one to get on the mainland!

And the one sign is just filled with odd quotation marks!

  9. I love the first sign. For once in my life, I know where I am in the world. Well, if I were there in Yellowstone, anyway! :-)
Fascinatingly cool basalt cliff, a magnificent natural rock garden. Thanks for sharing the tidbit on Shoshone history, and congrats on the Hawaii license plate!

  12. Hilarious about the license plate. I've been to Yellowstone, but I never saw those signs. I guess they were buried by snow! I went in winter...
