Just when I think I've seen everything there is to see I stumble upon something I have never seen before. The Columbian Ground Squirrel is one such creature. I didn't even know of their existence, yet here I was nose to nose with one. It's important to remember that the world is so full of surprises that you cannot possibly learn them all.

Does the name Columbian ground squirrel imply that he stays on the ground? Just curious. He looks a lot like a regular squirrel.
