Tundra Swans in Waupaca

lc1542

When Dennis was on his way home one day he saw a lot of white on the lake. He couldn’t tell what they were but decided to take me to check it out.

Unfortunately, this is as close as we could get. But most of those birds are Swans. I guess the Tundra Swans were migrating, because we haven’t seen them since.

There sure were a lot of them.

  3. What a great sight to see! My guess would be that they were migrating, as you said. With numbers like that and then nothing...sounds strange otherwise.

  4. Sure there are many of them and you have also accommodated them very well in every composition

  5. Wow, what an impressive sight, so many of them. I can just imagine their calls filling the air. Isn't it frustrating though, when you sooooo want to get closer, but the wildlife in question just won't abide by it?! :-)

  6. Wow, is that ice in the foreground? The ice, then the water really add interest. We don't have swans, here; so, thanks for sharing these wonderful shots.

  11. I guess they don't fly south, huh? Or do they fly south to Wisconsin to get away from a place where it's really cold?

I suppose any bird with "tundra" in its name would consider a Wisconsin winter relatively mild, eh?
