Tundra Swans in Waupaca

lc1542

When Dennis was on his way home one day he saw a lot of white on the lake. He couldn’t tell what they were but decided to take me to check it out.

Unfortunately, this is as close as we could get. But most of those birds are Swans. I guess the Tundra Swans were migrating, because we haven’t seen them since.

There sure were a lot of them.

Monarchs and more

Camera Critters

.
Monarchs are always a delight to find.

t1182

And easy to recognize/identify.

t1183

But I’m pretty clueless when it comes to other butterflies.

t1185

Tiny and quick they flutter so fast they are hard to catch.

t1186

Sometimes, freezing them with the camera will help me to identify them later, but I wasn’t able to get close enough to this little fairy.

t1188

I love the little bits of white along the edges of this one’s wings.

t1184

I may be clueless at identifying butterflies, but I still enjoy their beauty.

And Monarchs are always a delight to find.

Of course I found these before the fall migration.
