curable
Cancer is the most curable of all chronic diseases. If that doesn't shine a ray of hope into your soul, then how about this: At least one person has been cured from every type of cancer. Let's add you to that growing list!

fresh snow
The snow encompasses everything, making the world silent and still. It calms me and rushes me back to those chemo days - seems it snowed every time I had another treatment. I am so thankful to still be here, and to be through with it!

We got a little more snow yesterday. Seems the piles just keep getting bigger. I really do love snow! But, even I am pretty ready for spring to come. Maybe we'll be able to grill out again soon?
Last winter we learned to take the top off the gazebo so the snow doesn't pile up and break the support bars, yeah that was fun. You think we could have a picnic? Well since we're still having to shovel paths for the dogs I'm guessing not.
Flower Petal Macro Monday
There were flowers blooming in New Orleans! They were a wonderful sight!
Soon I'll have flowers like this one, blooming again.
Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or any close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and sign MckLinky. :) MM started on Sept 29, 2008 - Thanx to all of you for helping make it such a fun start to the week!

The Shoe Tree ~ Sooc #38
Driving between Devil's Tower and Custer State Park we discovered this shoe tree at the side of the road. Not sure why it started but since finding it I have also found a couple of shoe fences. . .odd.
Corn Puff
I got a new puffer fish, meet Corn Puff. He is an Indian Pufferfish and he's smaller than the fingernail on my pinkie finger! He's pictured here eating a freeze dried bloodworm.
He's so small we put him in the guppy tank to keep him safe and I keep losing him. He's smaller than the pebbles in the bottom of the tank. He's much smaller than the guppies.
As you can see, he's mostly eyes, lol. I haven't gotten any really good photos of him yet, these will have to do for now, he swims pretty fast and I'm having a hard time keeping up with him.
Here, I found this photo on another site, he says they are in a 2" bowl - these are the two different puffers I have too.

The Prairie dogs of Devils Tower
Love stopping by Devil's Tower National Monument!
We have walked around the base before and we saw a porcupine scurry away.
This visit was mostly about the prairie dogs though. I just love them!
Just chillin'.
He looks like he's praying to the grass gods, lol.
This fellow, or lady, is nice and petite.
The opposite of petite?
Peek-a-boo
Mine! It's mine! Get away!
If I sit very still she won't see me.
hearts beating together
Seek and accept support; I can't say it enough, people need people. It's not a time to worry about appearing weak, accepting help will make you stronger.

The many South Dakota skies
Standing on a precipice in Custer State Park (South Dakota) watching a storm rage in the distance.
A different direction from another area of the park.
Watching the storm as we're coming into town - I don't remember which town but I think it was in South Dakota, lol.
See the rainbow?
Wyoming? South Dakota? Your guess is as good as mine.

Happy 4th Birthday Tristan!
My sweet grandson - the child who made me a grandma - turns four years old today. How the time flies!
He loves to mimic me.
I'd like to apologize for tricking you yesterday; it wasn't raining in the kitchen, I was misting water on you from a spray bottle. Oops. :0)
He still loves his baby sister.
Happy Birthday Brown Eyes! It's a joy having you in my life!
