ribbon

There are so many emotions involved with a cancer diagnosis, and I find I still get to ride the loops while in remission.  Finishing treatment does not mean suddenly life goes back to normal.  Normal is redefined through treatment and remission.

Got the supplies to make the Christmas cards - then I had to find the top of my crafting desk - success!

I typically draw out my design before I start, especially when I have 50 cards to make.  Much easier to have everything all drawn out, make sure it all looks right, then start assembly line style.

  1. That sounds like a fun thing to do! I am not crafty at all. The photo of the ribbon is very nice - like a Christmas card itself!

  2. they will be beautiful--love your ribbon selection :)

I know what you mean about life being redefined by a life threatening illness. When my daughter was 18 months old she fell into a campfire and was burned on her arms. She had to have skin grafts. She was cared for at the University of Utah burn center which is a teaching hospital. Everyday the doctor would visit with an entourage of interns following him. They'd begin the evaluation by saying, Day ONE of the burn--Day TWO of the burn--Day THREE of the burn . . . a life without burns ended the day she was burned and life after the burn began the day after. It's a real thing and you never stop thinking of it that way. Life before cancer--Life with cancer, (and hopefully) Life after cancer. I admire your courage and I love these posts. Hope your day is wonderful.
