bluebird?

IMG_1471

We saw this bird at a rest stop in Montana, is it a bluebird? Doesn't look exactly like the bluebirds we have in Wisconsin.

  1. Is that an Indigo Bunting? I've always wanted to see one of those - they are so bright!

  2. Okay I am wrong - I am thinking it is a Mountain Bluebird. They don't have the orangey belly. The Indigo's don't seem to have the black feathers on the wings like this one does. It is a beautiful bird!

  6. I think it is a mountain bluebird. Our bluebirds are almost a sky blue. The indigo bunting is almost electric turquoise! I'd love to see either bird. I've heard we have the indigo's in our area in TN but I've yet to see one. Great capture!
