  11. Hey I saw this pelican looking bird that sounded like a cross between a duck and a ghost at the CCC Devil's Lake trail on Friday, any ideas what it might be? It seemed way too big to be in WI. Huge nest precariously built at the top of a tall, skinny pine that swayed so much I thought the whole thing, pelican and all would spill out.

  12. I just looked up "heron" cuz some hippie ranger said they were nesting in another spot more by the lake, but I think that was it. Should have looked it up first, but I can tell you where some nests are if you want to get shots.

  16. Ah, I think it's Flock's RSS reader again (my browser). The Ice cave must have been an older post popping up then, sigh :D

  18. The white guy - I can't remember what they are called - but we saw a pair like that when we took our trip to the Winston Animal Safari. And while we were there the two guys were "whoop"ing. I couldn't believe how loud they were. I tried to imagine what it must be like in the jungles when they call.
