PhotoStory Friday

A few years ago, Dennis and I were vacationing in Utah, stopped for a pit stop and discovered this beer. Our brains must have been tired because at first we were puzzled by it, thinking what is Poly Gammy? Then, suddenly things clicked, “OH, Polygamy!”

After we recovered from our laughter and picked ourselves off the floor, we bought some. Come on, you would have too!

Polygamy Porter ~ Why have just one

What's the weirdest thing you've ever bought, just because it was weird?

  1. funny funny funny.
WR has been enjoying one called "Kilt lifter"
and he doesn't have a kilt to lift...
I guess I could let him drink your brand - even though he only has one wife.

  2. that's hysterical! :D I love it when they come up with funny names for beer and wine.

When you get a chance, google for a shiraz that has the word "fat" in its name...

    ;)

  3. My weird does not compare to that weird. That is crazy and fun! (Why not more than one? Simple: think of the in-law complications!)

  4. That is so funny! Did you know that there is a wine called promiscuous and another one called monogamy! I guess the alcohol industry is trying to sell sex to everyone!! LOL!

  5. That was very unusual and very funny!

  6. Too FUNNY! I can't believe the art work on the label, it wasn't even with the name, they added such a label! So does the beer taste any good?

  9. Love it!!! Of course, I Love watching "Big Love" too. Well, on the same note, I have a bottle of "BAWLS" in my cupboard and I bought it just because I couldn't believe the name. It's a high caffeine Guarana beverage (whatever that is). I don't have the "balls" to ever try it though.

  12. eh hmm. ROAD KILL GUMMIES. Squirrels, raccoons and snakes, all with tire treads running over them. They basically were plain 'ol gummy critters with light tread like indentations. not graphic. Still, PETA got pissed off. so I only got a couple of bags. But I did make 'road kill' cupcakes once. I took them to a church thing. Still dont know if anyone else thought it was funny.

  14. They used to sell nude beer. I bought some just to save. It had a cover like a lotto ticket. You scratched it off to see a naked girl. I don't have them anymore. I did have them for a long time. Some of the scratch stuff flaked off.

  19. That is awesome! I'm a little surprised they would joke about it and get away with it in Utah - heh-heh

Thanks for stopping by my blog - I've looked through your photos and you are amazing! Wow.
    I'll be back!

  20. That is hilarious! I would not have picked up on that one! Weird? I just bought a 1001 piece kitchen set for my toddler to play with (translation: for ME to pick up).

  21. ROFL!!! Too funny!
And? How many did you have?

  22. That is too funny, I'm not sure I can beat that either. I can however think of several reasons why to not have more than one...beer or wife :)

  23. I'd have to buy one too. We bought a candy called a Wazoo in the Walmart checkout aisle about a month ago. The package had adjectives like chewy and fruity on it. We laughed so hard about fruity wazoo. It was a fruit flavored gummy candy with crunchy candy sprinkles all over the outside. Not very good, but much better than I expected from something called wazoo.

  24. LOL..........I love it. It took a minute for it to sink in. Was it any good?

I don't remember ever purchasing something just because it was weird, unless it had a practical purpose, like your beer.................:)

  25. I think I would have to buy those too! That's the funniest thing I've seen in a long time.

  26. That is hysterical. I'm going to have to look for that when I go to Utah again. I think the weirdest thing I bought just because it was weird was potted meat disguised as armadillo meat. GROSSLY weird!

  27. OOHH you can't be serious??? That is so funny!! i once bought a sucker with a bug in it...have you seen them..I think it was a cricket....but I was so worried one of the kids would find it and eat it..I threw it away!!

  28. Oh my gosh! That is freaking hilarious! Yes, I would have definitely bought some!

  29. Too funny! I would have bought it because no one would believe it otherwise! Someone is a marketing genius! Wonder if it is still in business!

  30. I so would have bought one, probably more than one, because why would I want just one. I have always contended there are only men with multiple wives and no one vying for equal rights to have more husbands. I am sure there is a reason for that. Who would want more than one ;-) . I mean mine is great, I don't need any more.

  31. That is good. I'm coming up blank with something I've purchased just because it was weird. I'm sure there's something, but can't remember anyhing now.
