My what big eyes you have. :0)
Unfortunately, this is as close as I got to the Columbian Ground Squirrel while in Glacier National Park.
Buh Bye! Was nice meeting you!
Obviously he wasn't too traumatized by my stalking - he went right to eating. But I decided to let him dine in peace. We stumbled upon him after pausing at the waterfall, heading back to the car.
I've never heard of ground squirrels before! Nice photos - specially the first and last :-)
ReplyDeleteI love these photos... the rusty nose if gorgeous... so nice to see these animals in the wild...
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a ground squirrel... only the tree dwelling types. Great photos... he's cute ^..^

ReplyDeleteCute squirrel and photos. Some of these critters seem to like being around people. They might be use to being fed.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, healthy specimen you found. I love the pictures with the flowers.
ReplyDeleteWe have little dusty fellows here in southeastern Alberta, which we call gophers, but are officially Richardson's Ground Squirrels. And they look nothing like as good as this one.
I'll bet Eileen's right, some people might feed the ones in Glacier, because this one didn't disappear the minute you saw it.
Great shots. Thanks.
