Shark Teeth Macro Monday

When we were in Florida last winter we spent some time combing the beach for shark's teeth. We had a lot of fun and found hundreds in just a few hours time.





It was fun watching them wash in and trying to catch them before they were taken back out.





A few people have wondered which beach we went to, well I happened to snap a photo of the sign so I wouldn't forget, lol.

Wall Drug Sooc #39

Although we have crossed South Dakota many times, we had never stopped at Wall Drug. It seems the billboards start the second you enter the state, yet we had never stopped, lol.



We did this last trip though. We browsed, and bought, and sat while having some breakfast, then we sped off into the noon sun. :0)

The Shoe Tree ~ Sooc #38

Driving between Devil's Tower and Custer State Park we discovered this shoe tree at the side of the road. Not sure why it started but since finding it I have also found a couple of shoe fences. . .odd.

the Corn Palace & 1880 Town Sooc #37

When we pulled off the interstate to check out the 1880 Town this sign cracked me up. This little town is fenced off behind a gas station, pretty much the only thing at the exit. It has been the set for some movies, or has some of the props from Dances with Wolves. We didn't take the time and spend the money to check it out but just continued on to the World's Only Corn Palace in Mitchell.

It's pretty neat, the murals on the sides of the buildings are all created with grains and such from local fields.

A good portion of them were complete.

But some weren't quite done yet. The black areas are unfinished.

Antelope roam

We barely entered Custer State Park and we started seeing antelope here. . .

. . .and there. . .

. . .pretty much everywhere.
