Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or any close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and sign Mr Linky. Don't forget to visit each other. :)
Some gulls came very close while we were out in the lobster boat in Maine. I know they were looking for hand-outs but I took advantage of the situation.
They swooped. . .
. . .and glided . . .
. . . and piouretted . . .
. . .then floated.
Squawk!
'Fine if you won't feed me ~ I'm off!'
These are some wonderful and such intense shots Lisa! Wow! I finally got some new shots over the last couple days. I'll see what I have on the camera and will hopefully be back to play along this week :-)
ReplyDeleteAs usual, you top the bill when it comes to birds -- especially on the wing. The next to last one looks like he could be an F-14 jumping off the deck with the afterburner lit. And the last one is just a joyous tumult of angles. Love all of them.
ReplyDeleteI went with something aquatic myself this week, though it's not apparent at a glance.
Gulls can be pests on the beach, but they are graceful in flight. I like the way the light plays through the feathers on the wing trailing edge. My favorite is the last photo with the two leaving. Neat composition. You're fast on the shutter Lisa.

Super shots! One time in Florida I was feeding Gulls from a bag of bread when a big Gull swooped down and stole the remaining bread bag and all.
ReplyDeleteB.

ReplyDeleteThe light through those wings...astounding. The look on the face of that bird in the second shot just stops time. You are amazing.

Absolutely incredible shots! I mean, up close, macro, in-flight! I like the yellow-orange of their beaks making a nice counterpoint to all the shades of gray. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteOoh Lisa, these are spectacular shots. I wish I could have captured the seagull swooping our Wal- Mart this past winter as good as you did here. Simply Stunning Shots. Good night~
