I had a new visitor to my yard. A bird I had not seen here before. She tried to ignore me.
Peeking over her shoulder coyly.
Then she finally let me get a better look. If I’m not mistaken I think she’s a female Scarlet Tanager. Whatever she is, she sure is cute!
Most def. a cutie :D!
ReplyDeleteAnd how nice of her to let you finally take a really nice profile shot :D
welcome to the fold my dear little birdie:)... and yep, she's adorable! hope to see more of her in the coming days :)...
ReplyDeleteShe sure is a cutie:)
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous! Maybe someday we'll have one come visit our yard.
ReplyDeleteI concur...about her looks. I have no idea about her identity.
ReplyDeleteThe person who started giving birds their common names musta been color blind. Scarlet Tanager? Purple Martin? they're both YEL-LOW. Even I can tell that!
ReplyDeleteCool shots though! and yeah, she looks coy for sure. She must be a terror among the Boy Tanagers.
i have such a bad cold, i am having trouble focussing. i read, scarlet teenager. on elk's blog i read martini instead of moment. going back to bed!!!
ReplyDeleteAh, yes. The old Scarlet Tanager in the hood trick.
ReplyDeletelol, comment number 8! haha!
ReplyDeleteShe's a very pretty bird and I love how she tried to be coy. :)
She's such a pretty bird...I think our dog has scared all the wildlife out of our yard! lol
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely bird. glad she stood still long enough to get such great shots. i have to agree with Emily, my pups make it a point to keep all wildlife out of their yard. they are really very good at it.
ReplyDeleteOh Lisa...she is a beauty!!
ReplyDeleteHope your hubby is feeling better soon! My thoughts and prayers are with you :)
How dare that beauty try to ignore you. You know what creeps me out, for every bird I see I know there are hundreds more watching.
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful. I hope the male makes an appearance for you. I've never seen either (in person).
ReplyDeleteWow--I have never had a female scarlet tanager come to our feeder. That's great and what wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty and great photo!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I wish I could have a bird feeder around the house but Smidget (my cat) would munch down on them. Have a great night.
ReplyDeleteYes. There is a happiness in her eyes, too. Maybe all that suet at her talon tips is enough to inspire that!
