A foggy day in Door County

We decided on a quick run to one of the lighthouses in Door County, as we got closer we drove into fog and the air was significantly cooler than in Sturgeon Bay.

There was moisture in the air, and spider webs everywhere!

What you see here are my attempts at “macro” shots with a 400mm lens. A lens that requires a minimum distance between camera and subject of 5 feet.

Other than the lens to contend with there was also the fog, and wind - it was very windy! And, well, webs move in the wind.

I never saw a spider - just plenty of webs!

    Love Door County and hoping to make it up there again this summer. Have never been there during inclement weather, but often wonder what it's like in January! Cool shots!

    Great photos as usual. I really love the foggy shot of looking down the pier, and the last one too. You could even crop it closer to show the focus on just one cobweb. The simple shapes and blurry background are really appealing to the eye.

    I love the cobwebs. I think fog is cool - but kind of scary too. Always makes me think of Hounds of the Baskerville for some reason.

    Hello Lisa~ These pictures are great. The fog lends itself to the pictures well. It enhances them quite significantly. Interesting cobwebs too. The dew makes them most artsy. Hope all is well.
