This deer thought it was hidden, yet there were several of us pointing cameras at it, lol.
I'm so taken aback with thermals, a terrifying concept, yet intriguing too!
How deep does that hole go? Why is white around the edges? So many questions; so much to see!
Amazing that flowers can grow in this environment!
Not sure what these bubbles are about. I wanted to poke them but was afraid the thermal would melt my finger off, lol.
Fun stuff! I love how life seems to find a way to persist even in the harshest of environments. The white around the edges are the mineral deposits from the rich waters that evaporated along the edges. We see similar mineral deposits on Mars where there was once liquid water! Thanks for a great post!
ReplyDeletebeautiful photos. Charmaine
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots, I love that top one with him hiding.
ReplyDeleteThe last photo is just awesome! I wanted to poke the bubble too through my computer screen! Impulsive disorder you think?
ReplyDeleteomg photos are just amazing! the first one just takes my breath away!
ReplyDeleteI love all of the different landscapes in Yellowstone and you captured a few of them just brilliantly....I love that deer ducking in the tall grasses...the sunlight just makes him stand out! Also love those itsy bitsy flowers in the snow, makes me wonder how they survive! My favorite it the last image....that crystal clear water is outstanding!
ReplyDeletei love yellowstone!! these are awesome pics...they make me want to go back :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I had spent more time checking out the thermal pools the last time we were in Yellowstone. The kids were little and not very excited about the "hot water." I loved the particularly colorful pools and the bubbling mud. The kids were more into the wildlife sightings. I love the deer shot and the way the sun rims it's antlers.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! I haven't been to Yellowstone since the early 80s. I'd love to go back and take more pictures with my digital camera!
ReplyDeleteI love yellowstone too, great shots of a great place. BTW since I grew up in these here mountain states I feel I must point out that the fellow in your first picture is a bull elk--just a young one, a spike in velvet. It is a beautiful picture. When we visited the park one time there was a huge bull laying along side the road similar to this one. I could not believe how many people went up to within a few feet of a creature that could kill them in a matter of seconds if it became annoyed. Yellowstone is not a zoo, these are wild animals. People tend to forget that. Sorry about the moment on the soap box ;-)
ReplyDeleteThese are Super! Yellowstone is defintely on my bucketlist!
ReplyDeleteThat elk would look really terrific on the cover of a wildlife magazine. Awesome shot!
ReplyDeleteWhat makes these exceptionally beautiful right now is that I know what Yellowstone looks like right now, and you won't be seeing any flowers or water! Although you will see quite a bit of white. It was very nice to see such enchanting images of summer!
ReplyDeleteAren't the thermals cool? I was so fascinated by them when I saw them. But they smelled bad too!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that the deer is so relaxed ... he can't see you so he thinks you can't see him!
Thank you for sharing with us. I had to come by for a Lisa-photo-fix, LOL. I truly enjoy your photos and miss them when I don't visit your blog for a while!
ReplyDeletethanks for letting me follow you there by showing these photos :-)
ReplyDeleteSeems well worth the visit
That's another beautiful collection, wow!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun and I'm dying to visit Yellowstone now.
