I have never tried my hand at the Amaryllis bulbs because I didn't figure I would have any luck. But, they had them on sale and it was already poking out of the box, so. . .

    The assistant is cute. My wife tried to grow one last year without any luck, but this year we've had one bloom and two more that might still bloom. It's nice to see some live flowers this time of the year.

    I've grown them in past years.
    My Christmas Cactus blooms this time of year also - and it gives me much pleasure.

    What do you pay your assistant, by the way?

    I love the juxtaposition (wow!) between the flower and the dog. I also have a photographer's assistant of the furry variety.

    These are all just perfect...but my favorite is the top one...now that is a capture! It just makes me smile thinking about how she is assisting you (and eating the flower) lol

    Fabulous photos, but even more exciting that it continued to bloom and grow for you! I was almost tempted when I saw one on sale, and I think you had mentioned you were trying it. But all the garden veggies I tried indoors in October are beginning to die. So maybe the amaryllis I saw got a better home than I could have given it.

    Amaryllis always amazes me, lovely flowers out of the bulb so delightful. An assistant sometimes helps and sometimes is always in the way ;-)
