I have never tried my hand at the Amaryllis bulbs because I didn't figure I would have any luck. But, they had them on sale and it was already poking out of the box, so. . .
Viola! I did it! :)
My Photographer's Assistant, lol.
PS -Anyone live in (or visit) New Orleans? We're planning a trip - any tips for us?
The assistant is cute. My wife tried to grow one last year without any luck, but this year we've had one bloom and two more that might still bloom. It's nice to see some live flowers this time of the year.
ReplyDeleteI've grown them in past years.
ReplyDeleteMy Christmas Cactus blooms this time of year also - and it gives me much pleasure.
What do you pay your assistant, by the way?
That is such a pretty flower! Great job! Love the pooch too. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the juxtaposition (wow!) between the flower and the dog. I also have a photographer's assistant of the furry variety.
ReplyDeleteThese are all just perfect...but my favorite is the top one...now that is a capture! It just makes me smile thinking about how she is assisting you (and eating the flower) lol
ReplyDeleteSweet photos with your assistant! I have never been to New Orleans - good luck and have fun!
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos, but even more exciting that it continued to bloom and grow for you! I was almost tempted when I saw one on sale, and I think you had mentioned you were trying it. But all the garden veggies I tried indoors in October are beginning to die. So maybe the amaryllis I saw got a better home than I could have given it.
ReplyDeleteLove the candid shots of your photographer's assistant!
lovely assistant and lovely subject. I've been to New Orleans twice (which is also lovely) I'd be happy to share my thoughts. I did do a post once about one of our visits http://ladygaladrielkj.blogspot.com/2010/01/monday-mission-postcards.html
ReplyDeleteI love these marvelous giants. Yours is a stunner.
ReplyDeleteI love amaryllis and, apparently, so does your little sweetie pie! Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteThe petals of this flower are just lovely and your assistant is simply adorable.
ReplyDeleteAmaryllis always amazes me, lovely flowers out of the bulb so delightful. An assistant sometimes helps and sometimes is always in the way ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am just in love with that first shot!
