I have this weird fascination with cemeteries, but I'm not alone I know. I have had this photo in a file for a long time waiting to be shared and just finally decided to through a few Wisconsin cemetery photos here together. They were all taken fall of 2008. Currently I'm in New Orleans and one of the reasons I came was to see the cemeteries. :)

I love the top photo! I always enjoy wandering round old cemeteries.
ReplyDeleteI also have several photos of cementeries. I love the first shot. Its a history lesson walking and reading headstones.
ReplyDeleteLove them, cementaries have some great stuff for picture taking! I live in a very historic town with lots of them. I need to get out and shot some, thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThe photos are superb. I, too, have a certain fascination with cemetaries. I wonder the about who the people are, thier lives, how they lived, the time in which they lived, etc.
ReplyDeleteCemetaries are incredibly interesting places and amazingly serene and beautiful. I love the silhouettes and shadows in these photos. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThese are just gorgeous...I love the stones against the corn in the first image...it really makes the stones pop! A very cool mood you have created in the second image...and I am in love w/ the perspective in the third. I can see why you love cemeties, they love you! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, especially the last one - love the angle of that.
ReplyDeleteLove the first shot. You can see that she is missed! I also love to look in cemeteries. It is like a piece of history for me. And I love it.
ReplyDeleteI do like the first one a lot. Never seen a statue like that in a cemetery here.
ReplyDeleteThat first shot is something special!
ReplyDeleteI love photographing cemeteries as well- I always feel odd doing it, but some of the images are so moving. I love the 2nd image- it seems so remote. Enjoy the NOLA cemeteries- they are really fun!
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely photos, Lisa. My other blog friend Mary T (http://workofthepoet.blogspot.com/), is also fascinated with cemeteries, You two! Hope you have a great trip, and wait to have a report.
ReplyDeleteI have a fascination of cemeterys to..... some calm and peaceful and other's quite creepy. The ones in Paris have lot's of great photoobjects (but I don't have any from 2011 so I cannot post them) so I guess I have to return there. Paris is a great town in many ways :-)
ReplyDeleteThe first one here has a calm and peaceful feeling
I too love wanderring cemeteries, imagining past lives! So many stories locked into one place! Especially love the detail in the first and last photo!
ReplyDeleteThese are so dramatic-looking. I can definitely see the appeal of cemetaries as a photo subject.
ReplyDeleteI love cemeteries, too. Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteNo, you are not alone. I've always loved visiting cemeteries. Love that first picture!
