As we drove away from our white water rafting, we noticed a hill covered in flowers and since there was also a dirt road up leading up the hill we went closer for a peek.
This stop was not planned, it was purely spur of the moment. Do you allow yourself to get distracted like that?
A sea of flowers holding hands making a colorful carpet.
A blanket of comfort!
Have you ever seen a cemetery literally covered in flowers? We had not. I would love to have a final resting place like this one. Unexpected beauty on a hill amongst miles of green.
So magical and peaceful!
The flowers stuck out their tongues as I caressed them into poses.
Even that little patch of green you see, if you stepped closer you would find flowers beneath the tall grasses.
(Looking down towards the main the road.)
There were also lilacs and azalea. It's truly like God smiled on the place.
Wild phlox? So tiny, so delicate, yet so many the air was filled with fragrance.
This fabulous place of solitude commanded our attention and we’re so glad we stopped for a closer look.
very cool Pics! A great phot op should never be passed by!
ReplyDeleteThere is little that is as pretty as fields full of flowers to me - in this case it's really special!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! How did you not step on all of them? Or did they just bounce back like grass?
ReplyDeleteNow, THAT is a lot of pink! Fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen anything like this.
ReplyDeleteWhat a place of beauty but also of sadness (reading the tombstone of a short life)
ReplyDeleteNever seen such a place though. Great find for PSF!
Thank you for stopping to smell the flowers. I can almost smell them, feel the breeze and feel the peace you felt. I love stopping in places like this that make you realize - God's grace is upon you! Thanks again :*) Kudos, amazing shots!

Amazing, one of my favorite posts ever from you! I've never seen anything like it, it's quite serene. I would love to rest in a place like this. Plots these days are so controlled and flowers removed every week or so. I love these photos and the thought of the beautiful coverage makes them even more wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. Where is this cemetery located? I would love to visit.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. It is the most beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteI do not want to die now, but it would like being able to choose a cemetery like that one for my final rest.
Bye
Goiás - Brazil.
where they buried my grandma in June is under a shady tree, where a redbird sits and sings..sigh.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! I've never seen a cemetery covered in flowers like that. Those unplanned stops are usually the most special ones.

ReplyDeleteOh, my! That is almost too beautiful to be real!
ReplyDeleteOooooh how beautiful! What an amazing discovery. Mother Nature did a splendid job here, blessed are the ones resting here.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous place. I especially love that last shot. Those four large markers seemed to me to bee ghosts tip-toeing through the flowers!
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL flowers and pictures!!! :)))
ReplyDeletestunning and very dreamy. Love them!
ReplyDeleteOh MY GOSH - this is SO beautiful! I wanna be buried there! What an absolutely wonderful place. I'm so glad you spotted it and photographed it.
ReplyDeleteNo, I never used to allow myself to get distracted, until I really became passionate about photography. I used to get so aggravated when my husband would want to just drive around... now, I beg him to take me just driving around. Strange how things change. I guess it's because when we lived in Ohio, it was getting so built up, there weren't many 'back roads' less traveled... but here, in Missouri, there are gravel roads all around me and I just love it.
Ok...bury me here. This is gorgeous. Anyone sad about me being gone would find some comfort in this beautiful place.
ReplyDeletei too would love to be buries here! this is a magnificent homage of the flowers to the residents of that blessed place! wow!
ReplyDeleteWhat ambience surrounds this place. I don't think any soul would go unrested in this beautiful cemetery. You captured its essence well. Great job.
ReplyDeleteWonderful title for a magnificent view
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous!
