Wish I could have taken this fellow home with me!
Snapped while walking downtown Philly.
Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or any close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and sign Mr Linky. Don't forget to visit each other. :)
In the first photo it looks like he is getting ready to chomp down on the awning of the next building. My macro monday is about a pet peeve!
ReplyDeleteNeat lions. Too bad we don't decorate our buildings like this any more -- Lions on the facade, gargoyles on the parapets or one of Leonardo's dragons.
ReplyDeleteNice shots.
John
Like John, I regret that there are no decorations like that on todays houses any more.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots!
You might have to fight me for that lion! So cool.
ReplyDeleteWow, what an impressive head ! The other picture makes me dizzy, lol !
ReplyDeleteI love sculptures like this hanging off buildings.... wonderful shots.
ReplyDeleteThe lions look like they were yawning. Typical cats.
ReplyDeleteHe is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteHe is still gorgeous, only my link in comment#8 was an old one, sorry about that!
ReplyDeleteHe looks a lot friendlier in the second picture! The first one is quite impressive!
ReplyDeleteLove those roaring faces! That is artistic power and energy!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping y my blogg, now the butterflyies are in Macro Monday.
ReplyDeleteWell I read it and now I will tell my husband that we must have sex 3-4 times a week or more....LOL MB
He's one cool cat! Yes, too bad you couldn't take him hoe.
ReplyDeleteI love all the details on buildings! This one has quite the presence about him!
ReplyDelete[...] This photo, taken yesterday at Wrightsville Beach, NC, was chosen for Macro Monday. [...]
ReplyDeleteLove those old details. Reminds me of the Lion's head door knocker I found for last Macro Monday.
ReplyDelete"Put 'em up, put 'em uuuup!"
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind taking that guy home either.
LOVE the LION! And LOVE the perspective in that last shot!!
ReplyDeleteLove the textures Lisa and the angle on the last shot is awesome.
ReplyDeleteGood luck this morning!
Oooh I like him!! What a handsome fellow!!! I like the sideways pic too!!! Sarah
ReplyDeleteNice snaps! I'll love to take the lion home too :-P
ReplyDeleteI love old buildings, they have so much character
ReplyDeletelove the texture and eyes of the lion and I think the cow looks like he's jumping over the moon... ok, just kinda, the angles in the shot are very interesting though - makes you want to look a while and figure it out!
ReplyDeletegreat details
ReplyDeleteHe is really neat, but I really like the signs. :)
ReplyDeleteHow cool! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteThe only way to take him home is with a chisel (and that doesn't seem like a very good idea).
ReplyDeleteThis whole page is a super group of photos. I was born in Philly but haven't been there in years. A steak sandwich sounds so good! Hope you got to see the Liberty Bell while you were there, a fascinating experience to a then-six-year-old, plus I remember they showed us Betsy Ross' sewing room! Love those school field trips. You don't want to know how many years ago . . .
ReplyDeleteI recognize a bit of Reading Station Market there. I love that smiling lion. Seems very proud of his good looks!
ReplyDeleteThe lion steals your heart doesn't it? I love the perspective of that last picture. Philly looks like an interesting place to visit.
