Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or any close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and sign Mr Linky. Don't forget to visit each other. :)
Do you ever take risks while taking your macro shots? When I played with the poppies a while back my husband had the brilliant idea to pose my wedding set on one. I was terrified of losing it in the mass of flowers. But he carefully planted the rings and stood nearby.
He even put his own ring with them for a couple of shots. I just can't decide if I like this one, or the one below more. . .
The wind blew them off once, but he found them - thankfully!
And I got courageous and asked for him to plant my snake ring for a few shots. People may think I'm odd but I love this ring!
I saw a snake ring on a woman's hand and liked it, but typically they are wrapped around the finger differently than this one is, and more often they're silver. It took me some time to find the ring I liked, and I bought it on ebay about 10 years ago. Gold with ruby eyes, I've never seen another like it.
Don't we all want to be a little unique or quirky?
Yeah, unique and quirky, that's it! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
ReplyDeleteI can never see poppies without thinking of The Wizard of Oz. Well, that and Afghanistan. I certainly never thought of them as jewelry displays.
I can't say I've really taken any serious risks to get a macro. Mine are usually pretty benign. Now other kinds of shots are another story. But it's hard to shoot a drive-by macro. ;)
That ring is absolutely gorgeous!! I love all the shots!
ReplyDeleteMr. Linky is not playing nice - but mine is up here.
Have a great day!

That's just awesome photos! And your rings are beautiful. About the two shots you didn't know which one you liked best ... I like the shot below best :)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week!
Love the second shot, something bout the priority and focal length of yours in front of his! Though if i had to pick just one, the snake wrapped around the poppy sans flower would be my pick. Eerie and cool!
ReplyDeleteI like your snake ring. Your shots are neat, especially the last one. Would you believe the slides I got back Saturday included shots of a big red hibiscus bloom and more of hibiscus buds. Would have been spooky if I used them this week. I didn't.

unique and quirky - see those two words both have "qu" in them -- like "queen of unique and quirky" ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy MM
wow! I love all the shots. Gorgeous rings!
ReplyDeleteSorry I made a mistake with my link. I put the wrong link to Mr. Lonky as well so I'm going to do it again Sorry!
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea!
ReplyDeleteI love the first shot very much and the last one.
What great imagination your husband has. I think this series of pictures turned out so nicely. I love them all. And, I really like your snake ring. Catch ya at your next posting. Have a great night.
ReplyDeleteI like the second one with both your rings on it. The buds almost look like they are wearing crowns!
ReplyDeletequirky but nice!!
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are so beautiful but so are the rings!
ReplyDeleteA very unique and beautiful concept.
ReplyDeleteTo be honnest, I prefer both items apart, they are beautifl, but not a flower with a ring unless the flower is a woman :)
ReplyDeleteReally, raelly WELL done and funny I have to try that one day. The 3 photo is PERFECT!!! MB
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots, great fantasy with the rings. Love the two of them close together
ReplyDeleteon the third photo. As for the snakering, I love it, I have a panther-one with emerald eyes :-)

I adore quirky! Always interesting! And placing the rings on plants is a very artistic move! Especially love the last photo of your snake ring!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these shots! Your hubby had a FAB idea! And I LOVE your snake ring!!!
ReplyDeletePS
The only risks I've been taking are getting close to bugs. Which I used to be SCARED to death of, but now am finding quite appealing!
I have to say...I have never tried that with my rings! I like the snake ring. I have a horse ring ;0)
ReplyDeleteYou could make a catalogue for a jeweler's shop with this! What a great idea!! Love it, and I so love your rings, that snake ring is very pretty!!
ReplyDeleteUnique ring indeed...and very unusual displays as well. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWow! That was AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteThis is my First time here and I like what I am seeing! I will come back later and link up!

very original, and very brave. But the shots turned out great.
ReplyDeleteHow fun and creative! Love these!
ReplyDeleteI love the shot where it looks like the two pods are leaning towards each other. Like two heads together. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an original idea to put the rings on the flowers. Very unique, and it´s lovely! I love your macro Monday´s!
ReplyDeleteI love these! How original! I'll bet you will get copied next week, as folks try out this idea themselves. And that's a good thing!
ReplyDeleteThese are fun. I like the way the rings absorbed the colors. Camouflage? Just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThat is a cool ring, with some neat pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks for creating an interesting evening, enabling us to look at everyones pictures.
Nice work!
I've never seen a snake ring I liked as well, and I love how it fits in with the poppy. Very creative.
ReplyDeleteHi, found your wonderful photos from a comment you left on PW. I had to look up soeurs. and add it to my french vocab. Well, now that I have found you and your sister, I'll be back. Macro lense is on my wish list, but maybe I'll play Macro Monday with what I have to work with, next week anyway.
ReplyDeleteVery quirky.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captures and I really like your snake ring. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a terrific idea to display the rings on the flowers. I wish I'd had that idea when I did my brother's wedding shoot a couple of weeks ago! These look great. I don't have any macros except maybe the turtle pics I posted a few days ago. I did have an armadillo in the yard last night, but I didn't get THAT close!
ReplyDeleteLisa, I have been away so long. It's so good to see your photos again. I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.
ReplyDeleteI love these photos. what a great way to photograph jewelry. .. and I love your ring. So unique and memorable.
