Love the halo of stars.
And at her feet, an Eagle with a snake in its talons.
Philadelphia is rich in history!
And little patches of green can be seen amongst all the brick.
Washington
Details galore!
Wire mesh, and spike were supposed to keep birds off the old architecture - but the birds saw the metal pieces as great places to hold on to.
It's fun watching all these photos of your travelling, it's like I'm there with you! somehow you always bring out the beauty of such mundane objects around! you're one skillful photographer.
ReplyDeleteThat eagle with the snake is AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteI love Philadelphia. I haven't been in years, since college when my friend lived there, so I need to go again and take the kids!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous eye for history! When I grow big like you, I want to travel jus tlike you!!!
ReplyDeletei enjoyed this tour! i am struck by how sharp all of your photos are lisa. i get so frustrated with my own shaky captures. you'd think i was 86 instead of 56! i need to go to the gym more i guess...sigh.
ReplyDeletei am so glad for you both having good health reports this month :) yay!

Philadelphia is a beautiful city.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. I love the first two and that statue in the doors window. It looks to be pondering the next great poem. Hope all is well.
ReplyDeleteI love the rich history of the east. It's nothing to Europe, but compared to where I grew up (not far from you), it seems so much older and permanent. Where I live how actually has an older history of civilization, but it is so different than the East. Your pictures tell a terrific story.
ReplyDeleteI worked a few blocks from Independence Hall. I always went in that direction for my lunchtime walks. I have a good closeup of the liberty bell that I took in 1970 or thereabouts (before they put it in jail). Also have a shot of the interior of Independence Hall. I found the slides today. When I have time, I'll scan them.
ReplyDeleteJohn
