Some sort of Louisiana birdie

IMG_7417

Sometimes don't you wish birds could understand you? That you could tell the feather friend to, 'stay there, don't move, perfect' and walk up, snap that dang little twig out of the way?

Maybe he understood, as he peeked around it. :0) I just couldn't decide if I liked it better this way or that. . .

Don't forget to go to yesterday's post and enter to win a poopin chicken, lol.

  1. I think it's a type of shrike. Yup, just looked it up - a loggerhead shrike. :) have never seen one in person, just in books. But he's lovely!

  4. Hi Lisa,
I may be an exception, but I like that picture with the twig in the way. It doesn't really detract from the bird and adds some extra something to the picture. Thanks for stopping by my place. Have a great day!

  6. Oh, yes. I have had many such one-sided conversations with birds!

  7. Wow, this is a great bird. It is one of the Shrikes. There is a Loggerhead Shrike and the Northern Shrike. Fantastic photos, Lisa!

  8. Loggerhead Shrike. Perfect shots! I would love to get a little cooperation from these little critters. I talk to them, but they don't listen. Fortunately, I'm usually out in the country where no humans can hear me.
