oh dear. i hope no one was hurt. property loss is bad enough and hard to take...
So much changed in so little time. My boys and their dad were very close to the storms and tornadoes, driving east on Hwy 21 right behind the storm. The boys told me of some of the damage they saw, such as in Arkdale.
You might as well be in Oklahoma. We who live in "tornado alley" have seen more than our share of these storms. The surprising thing about something that does this much physical damage is how seldom they involve fatalities. The power of a tornado is frightening.
Nature has such great power. I have also seen the aftermath of tornado destruction and it's always such a shock. One good thing that came out of this one is that you captured some great photos.
Nasty. Thankfully, we rarely get these in the east and we would be ill prepared if one did come through.
The damage is horrible. I hope your house, family and friends weren't affected.
There was no mention as to how you fared. I hope well. Tornadoes are terrifying. In 2003, we were living in Jackson, TN. Our house was directly in the path of a tornado. It got the house to the east of us, went back up long enough to skip our block and then dropped down to destroy the house to the west of us. I've never been so scared in my life. You have documented the destruction well.
So sad. Thanks for sharing these photos. It always shocks me what mother nature can do.
That is so sad. All that destruction! I hope no one was hurt.
Wow what devastation! Hope this was not near you and that no one was hurt! You documented the destruction a tornado can do perfectly! I live about an hour and a half from Mapleton, IA (the town that was destroyed last week)...It always puts me in awe what Mother Nature can do!
OMG the devastation these things can cause. Hope you n yours are ok n no damage. Our neighborhood in Pa. had a tornado come though back in 2001. It demolished 5 homes and lots of homes such as ours had minimal damage. We had to replace a roof/siding porch rail and lamp post! We were very lucky!
What horrible (but nicely shot) photos! They bring up too many memories of my brush with an F4 in '05. I hope never to hear that sound again! I do hope everyone is okay.
Wow--gives you some respect for the power of wind. I hope everyone was ok too.
Wow, we had a similar storm here Sunday night. I hope everyone was ok.
Your photos are fine, but I do´nt like what I see.
Oh my goodness. How scary. I hope no one Was hurt or killed.
You did a wonderful job of capturing the devastation of the tornado in a respectful manner.
We had two tornadoes on Friday night in a neighboring county. Which is VERY strange for our area since we have LOTS of mountains. 400 structures damaged or destroyed. Your images really capture the devastation.
Never underestimate the power of natureseems like it's getting worse and worse and I wonder why......unfortunately I think we humans have a bit of guilt
