  3. Love close up photos of flowers! Quite a different set of New York photos! I know there's a lot more to NY than just skyscrapers, but you don't usually associate it with flowers, do you? :)

My WW post includes a photo of our flower garden, but nothing's in bloom right now. I hope you'll stop by anyway: http://littlestuffoflife.blogspot.com/2009/06/in-garden-now.html

  5. Very beautiful. No idea at all what they might be called, but so lovely. Thanks for sharing. I also love the family photos below. His family resemblance is strong! Are you planning to learn to speak a bit of espanol? They seem like a loving family, well worth communicating with.

  12. Funny how people forget that most of New York State is mountains and farms! I live just a hop outside of the Adirondacks and recognize all of the neighbors in your photos. Lovely!

  18. Great shots from you travels, are the flowers in the last shot bleeding hearts? My parents both grew up in NY my mom in Buffalo and she used to grow bleeding heart so this made me think of her!

    "Cold Wind and Wildflowers"

    (c) By: Sharon Slaton Howell

    You know how it is,

A lot that one sees on tv

    fades from thought.

    (If it ever made an

    Impression initially.)

    But this one scene

I can see to this day.

    And feel vividly.

    A meadow somewhere

    In scenic Tennessee,

    Not a person there,

Just the sound of cold wind

    Impacting wildflowers

    Gentian blue, pink, purple --

    Blowing them more beautiful.

    (From my book, "Precious", 2009)
