Graffiti Ruins

lc1484

A couple of weeks ago we decided to get our exercise by hiking up (and back down) the two highest peaks in Ashland County. Don’t worry they weren’t that high, we are in Wisconsin after all. But there were ruins along the way from the old mines that once existed there.

I had fun playing in the ruins while Dennis searched for the geocache.

I thought it rather amusing that I had to hike a couple of miles to find graffiti when someone else seems to find it all around her easily enough.

  2. These are very neat pictures -- I especially like the second one. Can I ask you a question -- what is geocacheing? I hear the term but I have no idea what it is.

  3. Ah, hiking in WI. Been there, done that. It shouldn't be called hiking.

However, these are really cool pictures.

  4. I love the perspective in the photos.
In the short term I find some graffiti to be aesthetically pleasing, but long term its disgusting and obnoxious.
Thats really too bad to find it up there.

  5. I think the photos are lovely but feel sad to think that people feel they have to mess up with graffiti in such a beautiful place.

  6. What a cool place to stroll around and have fun :D
    I think I would enjoy geocaching :)
Lovely shots and weird to think that there was once so much bustling and action going on and now there's nothing left.
Why people would put Graffiti on such a remote place is mind boggling ;)

  7. Nice photos!! The snow looks so pretty & refreshing to me since we've been having 80 degree weather for the last month. But I think I just stay here in my warm state & visit the snow via the internet!
