I love sitting and watching the birds at the feeders.
I took these as our days started warming and the snow began to melt, exposing hidden seeds, and attracting the Redpolls. Btw, our snow is almost completely gone from our yard now, only a tiny little pile remains.
It amazed me that she kept creeping closer to me.
And the Cardinal played peek-a-boo, the big fraidy cat.
I kept looking for a male Redpoll and finally found one. He wasn’t as friendly as the female.
But he was entertaining.
Lovely photos...Thanks so much for sharing your bird watching. I enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteI am still amazed that there's snow on the ground.
Beautiful. # 8 is my favourite!
ReplyDeleteMe too! I can't wait to see them again...
ReplyDeleteVery sweet little birds and Fantastic photos!!
ReplyDeletegreat photos! Thanks for sharing. I am happy to see the birds have returned. I have 2 bird feeders but I think I may get a few more.
ReplyDeleteI am so envious of your redpoles. We had one two weeks ago a fleeting visit. They aren't common garden birds here and I'm dying for her to come back. Asbsolutely stunning close ups.
ReplyDeletelove those wonderful series of birds photos, so pretty..
ReplyDeleteThese are just gorgeous. Thanks for sharing with us!
ReplyDeletesuch wonderful shots. I passed up bird watching this morning because my new "meds" keep me chained to the restroom.
ReplyDeleteSo -- I'll enjoy your backyard!!
I know we're supposed to have these lovely birds around here, but I've never seen on in my yard.
Beautiful details! Love the red spot on the head!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots, Lisa! I've never seen redpolts before, I don't think we have them in Oregon. How nice she came so close! I love the cardinal shot too.

He is a hoot. Lovely bird!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of redpoles or is it redpolts? I made up a name for them - red-headed thrush..as always great photos. I'm so jealous of your skills....when are you gonna get that calendar/picture bok deal?
ReplyDeleteWow, excellent photos! Love em all. I really like the 2nd one tho, he looks like he's having a little party all by himself, lol.
ReplyDeleteYou got so close!! The reds are gorgeous, and the little peek at the Cardinal, awesome!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the ones that come around at my house chirping loudly :) Lovely pics.
ReplyDeleteAmazing series of shots! I wish I could get photos that good! :)

ReplyDeleteLisa ~
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful portraits of the birds! I love the whispy feathers of the little Redpoll. So wonderful that it came close to you!
Fantastic shots! I swear that some of them know just what a camera is & love it!!
ReplyDeleteI like the one with the little red hat.
ReplyDeleteI'm like Kendris, some know what a camera is! The one that came closer was not shy at all...LOL! I believe in my heart they felt your presence (life)!
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm amazed that he came so close. You and your camera must be trusting individuals. Oh, the cardinal is probably my favorite bird. It's the state bird of Ohio, the state I proudly lived my first 18 years...............:)
ReplyDeleteI love your bird watching photos!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great shot of the cardinal.
ReplyDeletei LOVE this bird series (well, i always like your "winged" creatures shots)!... you must be very patient (and quite skilled) in capturing them in different poses... glad the snow is melting... waiting (and photographing) for these creatures outside would be easier without the cold weather...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous, fantastic, beautiful photos! (as always)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos. I've never seen that first bird or the last one either.
ReplyDeleteAw ... lovely series!
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
