Do not like wasps...do not like to see wasp nests...although, you have taken some very good photographs...I will just pretend that I do not know what these architectural structures are.
We had a HUGE one this summer too, but had to tear it down as it was very low and accessible to the kids. We had fun tearing it apart and observing the larva.
Amazing as usual! I have so been enjoying your pictures this week. I had trouble with our internet for a while and could not look at pictures or u=tubes due to the speed. I missed your lovely shots!
very apt title!... i've never seen a "real" beehive before...now i know how it looks like... glad there aren't any "leftover" bees when you took those photos... they might think it's an "invasion" of their "privacy" and turn mean:)...
A wonderful find. I hope no one moves in and renovates this spring. We have some tiny ones we brought in the house a few years ago and they hang in my fig tree.
That one would NOT cause excitement!

ReplyDeleteGreat shots! We had one of those big wasp nests in our tree too - scary!
ReplyDeleteWe'd love to hear about your photos over at Tell Me Thursday sometime!

ReplyDeleteI love these photos. Wasps nests are truly amazing when you can see the fine detail especially. Too bad the buggers are so mean! Happy Wednesday!

ReplyDeleteLisa, nature's intricate patterns never fail to charm.
ReplyDeleteWhat great nature art! Love these!
ReplyDeleteOooooo, these are lovely photos. Those dried up combs would be awesome home decor. I would bring those in and use them. Great photos.
