When Dennis was on his way home one day he saw a lot of white on the lake. He couldn’t tell what they were but decided to take me to check it out.
Unfortunately, this is as close as we could get. But most of those birds are Swans. I guess the Tundra Swans were migrating, because we haven’t seen them since.
There sure were a lot of them.
Right place. Right time. Great capture. Wish I could have seen it in person...sounds liike a cool experience. Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteWow...thank you to your husband for noticing the white on the lake! Way Cool:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great sight to see! My guess would be that they were migrating, as you said. With numbers like that and then nothing...sounds strange otherwise.
ReplyDeleteSure there are many of them and you have also accommodated them very well in every composition
ReplyDeleteWow, what an impressive sight, so many of them. I can just imagine their calls filling the air. Isn't it frustrating though, when you sooooo want to get closer, but the wildlife in question just won't abide by it?! :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, is that ice in the foreground? The ice, then the water really add interest. We don't have swans, here; so, thanks for sharing these wonderful shots.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! But I'm beginning to wonder if it's ever going to thaw out where you are LOL
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky knew about this spot!
ReplyDeleteA whole bunch, wonderful !
ReplyDeleteSwan lake, how beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery neat pictures! It's a swan family reunion!
ReplyDeleteWow is right! So many of them!
ReplyDeleteI guess they don't fly south, huh? Or do they fly south to Wisconsin to get away from a place where it's really cold?
ReplyDeleteI suppose any bird with "tundra" in its name would consider a Wisconsin winter relatively mild, eh?
Wow, and here I'm still thrilled with my first heron. That's a lot o bird, woman.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty photos. you have a gift.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet this amazing little dude. Pixel is sweet.
ReplyDeleteVery cool.
ReplyDeleteThey look like they are the only ones in this world.. beautiful!
